Does ReferSplit handle the money?
No. ReferSplit is a marketplace that connects tenants and seekers. All bonus payments happen directly between users via Venmo, Zelle, or CashApp. We never hold, process, or guarantee any funds.
How does the 50/50 split work?
When a seeker uses your referral code and moves in, the apartment pays the referral bonus to you (the tenant). You then split that bonus 50/50 with the seeker via Venmo, Zelle, or PayPal. Both parties benefit!
Is ReferSplit free to use?
Listing your referral code is completely free. Seekers pay a small $4.99 fee to unlock a code, which helps us maintain the platform and verify listings. Your first unlock is free!
How do I know the listings are legitimate?
All tenants go through a verification process. We verify their residency and the referral bonus amount with the apartment complex. Look for the "Verified" badge on listings.
When do I receive my split?
Once the seeker moves in and the apartment pays the referral bonus (usually 30-60 days after move-in), the tenant sends the seeker their 50% share directly. We provide tracking to keep both parties updated.
What if the seeker doesn't move in?
No worries! If the seeker decides not to move in, no bonus is paid and no split is owed. All purchases are covered by our 30-day money-back guarantee.
Can I list multiple apartments?
Yes! Free accounts can list 1 referral code. Upgrade to Pro ($9.99/mo) for unlimited listings if you have referral codes for multiple properties.
