By creating an account or using the platform, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use ReferSplit.
ReferSplit (“ReferSplit”, “we”, “us”) is a marketplace that connects apartment tenants who have referral codes with apartment seekers. We are a connection platform only. We facilitate introductions but do not handle, hold, process, or transfer any referral bonus money. All bonus splits are private, direct arrangements between users.
ReferSplit does not guarantee that any user will honor a bonus split agreement. We provide tools for communication and status tracking, but we cannot enforce, mediate, or guarantee any financial arrangement between users. You use the platform and enter into split agreements at your own risk.
Users must provide accurate information. Tenants must have valid, active referral codes. Seekers must use codes in good faith. Both parties agree to communicate honestly about the split arrangement.
You are solely responsible for verifying the identity and trustworthiness of any user you interact with. We recommend using the in-app chat to discuss details, checking user ratings and reviews, and never sharing sensitive personal or financial information (bank account numbers, Social Security numbers, passwords) with other users.

If you encounter suspicious activity, report the user immediately using the trust report feature in your review, or contact us at admin@refersplit.com.
ReferSplit charges fees for code unlocks ($4.99) and optional subscriptions (Tenant Pro $9.99/mo, Seeker Unlimited $9.99/mo). These fees are for platform access only. We never take a percentage of any referral bonus. All purchases are covered by our 30-day money-back guarantee — see our Refund Policy. Payments and refunds are processed by our Merchant of Record, Paddle.
The referral bonus split is a private arrangement between the tenant and seeker. ReferSplit is not a party to, nor a guarantor of, this arrangement. We are not responsible for ensuring splits are completed, for the accuracy of referral codes, or for the actions of any user. We strongly encourage users to:
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, REFERSPLIT AND ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF THE PLATFORM.
WITHOUT LIMITING THE FOREGOING, REFERSPLIT IS NOT LIABLE FOR:
ReferSplit provides the platform on an “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE” basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless ReferSplit, its officers, directors, employees, agents, and affiliates from and against any and all claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or related to: (a) your use of the platform; (b) your violation of these Terms; (c) your violation of any rights of another user or third party; or (d) any bonus split arrangement you enter into with another user.
Any disputes between users regarding bonus splits are solely between those users. ReferSplit will not mediate, arbitrate, or resolve disputes between users. If you have a dispute with another user, we encourage you to use the review and trust report features. For disputes with ReferSplit itself, you agree to first attempt to resolve the matter informally by contacting admin@refersplit.com.
Referral bonuses may be considered taxable income under federal and state law. Users are solely responsible for reporting any income received through referral bonuses to the appropriate tax authorities. ReferSplit does not provide tax, legal, or financial advice. Consult a tax professional for guidance.
Users may not: post fraudulent, expired, or invalid referral codes; create fake accounts or impersonate others; harass, threaten, or defraud other users; share other users' personal information; use the platform for any illegal purpose; or attempt to circumvent any security measures. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms without notice.
Users should verify that sharing referral codes is permitted under their lease agreement. Some apartment complexes may have specific terms about referral programs. ReferSplit is not responsible for any violations of lease terms, apartment policies, or any consequences arising from the use of referral codes.
ReferSplit does not verify that a tenant is a current resident of the property they list, or that any referral code is valid or active. Whether a referral is honored and a bonus is paid is determined solely by the apartment complex under its own referral program. ReferSplit does not guarantee any referral will be accepted or any bonus paid.
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Your continued use of the platform after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.
